SRYA Softball

SRYA Softball is a recreational girls fastpitch softball program. We field teams in the 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and HSE (High School Eligible - 19U) age groups. SRYA Softball participates in the NCCGSL (North County Community Girls Softball League). For more information on our league, go to

SRYA Softball is committed to teaching quality Fastpitch Softball. We focus on the fundamentals and teach the latest softball skills and techniques. We develop our pitchers and give them the tools to reach their potential; however, commitment, effort and PRACTICE are a must. Registration begins on January 1 and ends in early March.  All players must be evaluated by commissioner to ensure proper team placement to achieve required talent and age parity. Practices typically begin by the third week of March, weather permitting, and games begin the second week of April.

We will begin winter workouts on January 9, 2024 at Summit School in Edgewater.  For younger players, this is an ideal time to explore interest in the sport - for older players, it is an opportunity to sharpen and gain skills in game mechanics.  Sessions will run as follows through February.

EVALUATIONS FOR 10U AND 12U (Summit School Gym) :

10U - Mar 12 6pm-8pm

12U - Mar 13 6pm-8pm

Pitchers and Catchers (both age groups) and any player who could not make previous sessions:  Mar 14 6pm-8pm

Please note:  when there are multiple teams at an age group, the league requires AGE and TALENT parity.  We need to be able to evaluate all players to make sure both teams have an equal chance at success.  We will try to accommodate practice day/teammate/coach requests but team requirements may sometimes take priority.  Please make EVERY effort to have your player attend evaluations.

SRYA Softball offers a fall season geared toward instruction and exploration in the sport.  The goal is to provide each team with two or three practice days so that multi-sport athletes have a maximum chance of being able to participate.  Games start after Labor Day and run for eight weeks on Sunday afternoons.  It's a very laid back season, good for players who want to try out the sport or who want to increase their skills at different positions.  Cost is lower because the fall season does not require a full uniform - registration opens on July 1 each year.
