US Soccer Age Matrix

In accordance to US Soccer's change in age format from split year ("U10" for example), all US soccer leagues (EDP, BBSL, AAYSA, included) must adhere to the new birth year format. The age group of a team is determined by the birth year of the oldest player on the roster.

Leagues begin in the Fall and runs through Spring, so a player's age group is determined at the onset of the Fall season. For example, in Fall 2025 (F2025), a player's age group will be determined based on his birth year and the chart below for Fall 2025 - Spring 2026. A player born in 2011, would play in the "U15" age group for Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 soccer seasons.

Remember, you move up in age group each Fall season, not during the Spring season.

Note per AAYSA:  Players must be 7 years old before they are allowed to participate in games in the Fall season. No exceptions to this rule will be entertained. However, players who turn 7 during the Fall or Spring seasons are allowed to practice with their teammates up until they turn 7 and then play in games once they actually are 7 years of age
