SRYA Field Hockey
Season Information
Leagues - Eligibility - Division
- Sticklettes - Grades K thru 2nd - 6v6 (coaches ref games)
- Pee Wee - Grades 3 and 4 - 3rd; 7v7 including goalkeepers & refs
- Middies - Grades 5 and 6 - 11v11 including goalkeepers & refs
- Juniors - Grades 7 and 8 - 11v11 including goalkeepers & refs
Groups are based on grade, not age. Eligibility is per Anne Arundel County Guidelines.
All players must be at least 5 years old by September 1, 2026.
SRYA Team Photos will take place late September or early October
SRYA Fees for Play & Uniforms for the 2026 season.
Registration
- Will be open May 1st - June 31st, 2026
- Sticklettes: Early Bird Registration $75, Price will increase to $95 June 1.
- Pee Wee, Middie and Juniors: Early Bird Registration $120, Price will increase to $140 June 1.
Uniforms
- SRYA Field Hockey (and SRYA Girls Lacrosse) uses the same uniforms. Please see the photo above for what that uniform looks like. ALL players need the new style jersey top. Skirt is only mandatory for Pee Wees, Middies and Juniors (3rd-8th grade). Each piece costs $30. Please note the skirt tends to run small. We recommend ordering up one size.

Season Snapshot
Registration will OPEN on May 1st, and CLOSE at 11:30pm on July 31st, so we will have time to build teams and communicate to coaches, family and the county.
2026 Evaluations (pending turf approval)
Sunday, May 31st
Middies - 3pm-5pm (Grades 5 & 6 for Fall 2026)
Juniors - 5pm-7pm (Grades 7 & 8 for Fall 2026)
Monday, June 1st
Middies - 6pm-7pm (Grades 5 & 6 for Fall 2026)
Juniors - 7pm-8pm (Grades 7 & 8 for Fall 2026)
Players in grades 5th-8th for the Fall 2026 school year will be evaluated and placed on a team that best fits their skill level. We will be using the first week of practice August 11th-14th to finalize our middie and junior rosters. *Goalies will be evaluated - please note this with your registration. Goalie gear will be available for evaluations - please email commissioners to get the right sizes.

Practices will begin the week of August 10th. Games will begin for all age levels the weekend of August 29th/30th. Coaches will contact parents with the exact days, times, and field locations of all team practices and games. Sticklettes practice at Loch Haven with some turf time in August before school starts. Pee Wee, Middie, and Juniors will be practicing on the South River turf depending on availability. Season schedules are released by Anne Arundel County Parks and Rec around 5 days prior to the first game allowing for all rosters to be accurate across all participating organizations.

Required Equipment
- Regulation Field Hockey Stick
- Shin Guards (specific to field hockey)
- Mouth Guard
- Cleats or turf shoes
- Goggles **(may be worn by all field players but are not required)
